A large number of people avoid various physical activities, thinking that they will not be good in it, they are not proficient enough, skinny enough or properly constituted to overcome certain skills. We strongly encourage you to reject all these prejudices and to try absolutely everything that seems interesting and fun to you.
There are plenty of cases where women in late 40s discover the good in pilates or yoga; that they are more flexible and more durable than they thought to be. We sincerely believe that, no matter what shape and size you are, there are physical activities good and fit your needs.
For start – you need to change your mindset. Instead of assuring yourself that something cannot be done, say yourself “I can do it”. Be bold and start. If you are someone who firmly held to the promises, promise a person close to you try. Not succeeding should not make you feel bad. The most important thing is you tried and did your best.
Before you decide which physical activity to start first, here are some rules you should know.
You do not need to be flexible to practice yoga!
Not being able to touch your toes with fingers does not mean yoga is not appropriate for you. The aim of yoga is not to do stunts, ropes, bridges, or to deepen on your head, but to connect with your own body. The first rule is: if you have a body, you can do yoga. You do not need to be fast to run!

You do not need to be extra-powerful to lift weight!
Lifting weights are usually done for strengthening and forming the muscles. Therefore, there is no point in waiting to reinforce to start lifting. The approach should be completely opposite. Most women avoid weight training due to fear of getting too severe, masculine arm muscles. However, you should know that, if your hands are not strong enough, exercises for other parts of the body are not going to be done good enough. And the final result will be less good.
You do not have to be perfect with coordination to do Pilates!
It is true that the coordination of movement, flexibility, and dexterity varies among people, but it is also true that situation can always be improved. And the only way is regular exercise.
You do not have to be skinny to do what you love!
This is certainly the most important of all the rules mentioned on this list and should never be forgotten. To do what you love – you do not have to be skinny! If you think only fit people with perfect figures and without fat come to the gym, then you cannot be mistaken more than you are. Everyone in the world can find exercise suiting them and their needs. You just need to look for it and not give up.
